Fees

The students who have been selected for admissions should contact the College office for details of the fee structure. Selected candidates should pay the prescribed fees in order to ensure that admission process is completed. Failure to pay the prescribed fees on time may result in loss of admission. The fees once paid shall under no circumstances be refunded. Candidates who withdraw from the College after admission will have to forego the fees paid by them.

Rules and Regulations

  1. Fees once paid shall not be refunded.
  2. Every class shall have a member of the teaching staff as their Class Guide. Students can seek help from their Class Guide to address their personal and academic problems. A record of their conduct and behaviour will be maintained by the Class Guide and will be reported to the Principal and the parents of the student.
  3. Students should wear the uniform prescribed by the College. Boys should keep their hair short and neat. Action will be initiated against any student who violates this code.
  4. Books, newspapers, magazines or any other kind of casual reading material, not approved by the Principal, is not allowed inside the College campus. Mobile phones and cameras are not also allowed inside the College campus.
  5. The use of alcohol / drugs / pan (beeda) / cigarettes / edible gum or any other form of chewing substance is strictly prohibited inside the College premises.
  6. When the students have a free class / period, they are advised to make use of the library / reading room fruitfully.
  7. Students should not be seen loitering outside the class after the second bell. They should be seated in their respective seats until the Lecturer arrives, without disturbing the neighbouring classes.
  8. Writing and marking on the walls, blackboard and furniture is strictly prohibited. Displaying vulgar writings and obscene pictures in the classrooms or elsewhere in the College premises is forbidden.
  9. Students should take proper care of their personal belongings like books, stationery, etc. The College shall not be held responsible for the loss of any of their articles.
  10. Students attending classes or meetings in the College should be neatly dressed in uniform in accordance with the dress-code.
  11. Student mail received at the College address is subject to scrutiny by the Principal.
  12. No meeting shall be held or new activities taken up in the College without the prior permission of the Principal.
  13. Students should not loiter in the College premises or near the lecture halls during College hours and should be able to present their photo identity card duly signed by the Principal whenever asked for.
  14. Students should not attend classes other than their own during lecture hours. Students experiencing any problems with their peers should report it immediately to the Principal or lecturers.
  15. Students should see the Notice Board every day for daily updates to keep in touch with the day-to-day activities of the College.
  16. Students shall not be allowed to remain in the College campus beyond 5 p.m. for extra-curricular activities under any circumstances. The students playing sports should tender their photo identity card while borrowing equipment and return it in time and in good condition.
  17. Students’ behaviour during lecture hours and in the College campus should be disciplined. The College authorities, though not responsible for the conduct of students outside the College campus will take cognizance of any serious misconduct outside the College premises as well. Students should not stand in groups outside, or within the vicinity of the College campus.
  18. Irregularity in attendance, non-submission of assignments or work-books in time, neglect of work, insubordination or discourtesy towards lecturers in word or act, destruction of any College property or other wrongful activity, connived or committed by any student is punishable by one or more of the following penalties:
    1) Strict warning 2) Loss of attendance 3) Levy of fine 4) Temporary dismissal or 5) Permanent dismissal.
  19. In the event of serious indiscipline or misconduct by all or a section of students in a class, hindering the normal functioning of the lecture, the entire lecture / class will be kept under suspension, until normalcy is restored. The Parents or Guardians of those students will have to contact the Principal, if the circumstances so warrant, to help the College administration to maintain discipline.
  20. Provision of Co-curricular and Extra-curricular activities is made for the students to participate in the following activities.
    1. The Fine Arts Club will serve to develop the talent of the students in dramatics, dance, music, art, etc.
    2. The Literary Association will conduct debates, publish ‘Manuscript Magazine’, organize talks by eminent personalities, in English, Kannada or Hindi.
    3. The Science and Commerce Association will conduct study circles in respective subjects and topics of current interest.
    4. Games & Sports Club will conduct tournaments and impart coaching to athletes.
  21. Railway & Bus Concessions: Concessions are available for students coming from outside Mangaluru City by train or KSRTC bus. Such students may furnish their home address to the College office at the time of admission and avail the concessions.
  22. Students shall not participate in any political agitations directed against the authority of the Government. They should also not participate in any public movement without previous permission from the Principal of the College.
  23. The original Transfer Certificate of the institution last attended by the candidate, submitted at the time of seeking admission (joining to Pre-University College Classes) will not be returned as per rule of the Education Department. Students should not demand the original TC under any circumstances.
  24. Any Certificate applied for by the student will be issued 3 days after the application.
  25. Rules for issue of Duplicate Transfer Certificate:  Those applying for Duplicate TCs should furnish an Affidavit on Rs. 20/- non-judicial stamp paper, duly attested by a Notary Public, and a complaint should be lodged with the Police Station to which the student belongs, and a copy of the endorsement to be submitted to the College Principal.  Only on receipt of these documents, Duplicate TCs will be issued. The candidates from outside Mangaluru City or outside Karnataka State, should issue a ‘letter of authority’ in favour of his / her representative who will produce the same while receiving the Duplicate Transfer Certificate from the College office.
    Rules for issue of Duplicate II PUC Marks Card: Application with challan for having paid the prescribed fees into the District Treasury to be submitted to College office. The ‘duplicate marks card’ will be issued on receipt of the same from the Pre-University Education (P.U.E.) Board.

Class Guides

Every year, Class Guides are assigned for all the classes under both Science and Commerce streams. These Guides ensure that students are given personal attention in academics, extra-curricular activities and personality development. The Class Guides monitor academic progress of all students under their supervision and offer guidance as appropriate.

Scholarship

The College facilitates the provision of Government Scholarship by guiding the students to apply for the same. College or private scholarships may also be offered based on merit.

Special Coaching

Special coaching will be given to academically bright students i.e. those who have excelled in second PU Preparatory Examination.

Re-Admission

If the student is struck off the roll due to any reason, his / her re-admission entirely depends upon the discretion of the Principal, and the availability of a seat. If re-admission is allowed, then all arrears due to the College must be paid prior to the re-admission.

Remedial Classes

Students who are slow learners or those who need special attention, are encouraged to attend special Remedial Classes organized prior to the examination.

Counsellor Assistance

On a need basis, the College can provide access, and refer the student to an empaneled Counsellor.
